Professor Stewart is currently in the process of gaining certification as a nurse educator.
Professor Stewart has an interest in researching maternal substance abuse and problems of withdrawal in the newborn. Her concerns center around education that is or is not taught to pregnant mothers about the medications that they are taking and effects on the newborn after delivery. In addition further questions focus on the education or steps that are warranted with the weaning of mothers and newborns in the postpartum time period
