Institutional Scholarships & Grants


Community Connection Grant
This grant was established to make a private Jesuit education affordable for our local students. Students must have graduated or be currently enrolled in one 70 area high schools or 3 community colleges or live within commuting distance. This grant is for new full time undergraduate not currently enrolled in WJU. For more information regarding eligibility, please contact your Admission's Counselor.

Presidential Scholarship
This is a merit based scholarship awarded at the time of acceptance and is based upon high school grade point average and composite test scores. This scholarship is renewal for four years based on minimum academic progress standards. This scholarship cannot be combined with the Community Connection Grant

Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston Grant
This grant is awarded to graduating seniors from catholic high schools in West Virginia. The seven eligible catholic high schools are: Bishop Donahue, Charleston Catholic, Madonna, Notre Dame, Parkersburg Catholic, St. Joseph's Central Catholic and Wheeling Central. This grant is for new full-time undergraduate students not currently enrolled in WJU and is renewable for four years based on minimum academic progress standards. For more information regarding eligibility, please contact your Admission's Representative.

High Honors Award
This is a merit based award determined at the time of acceptance. This award is based upon high school grade point average and composite test scores and is renewable for four years based on minimum academic progress standards.

Dean's Award
This is a merit based scholarship awarded at the time of acceptance and is based upon high school grade point average and composite test scores. This scholarship is renewal for four years based on maintaining minimum academic progress standards This scholarship cannot be combined with the Community Connection Grant.

Catholic High School Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students who graduate from a catholic high school. This scholarship is renewable for four years based on maintaining minimum academic progress standards. This scholarship cannot be combined with the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston Grant.

International Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students who are citizens from another country and are required to have a non-immigrant visa (F1). Students must enroll as a full time student and this scholarship cannot be combined with any other WJU merit scholarships or grants.

Campion Athletic Grant
Athletic awards are made by the athletic coaches based upon eligibility and talent of the student athlete. Wheeling Jesuit University has 19 NCAA II athletic teams.

WJU Grant
This grant is awarded based upon the financial need determined from the FAFSA results and being enrolled as a full-time student. This grant is renewable based upon financial need and maintaining minimum academic progress standards each academic year.
