Wheeling Jesuit's Martin Luther King Day celebration set

Wheeling Jesuit University and its numerous partners from local organizations have set the schedule of events for this year's Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration, which will be held on Sunday, Jan. 20 and Monday, Jan. 21. 

The celebration begins at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 20 with the annual March for Justice. Participants are asked to gather at First Christian Church on National Road. 

Following the march, there will be an Interfaith Service at 3 p.m. held at the Chapel of Mary and Joseph on the campus of Wheeling Jesuit. After the service, there will be a community dinner at 4 p.m. in the Benedum Room, which is directly across from the Chapel. 

The events will continue on Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. with a community breakfast at the YWCA in Wheeling. Afterwards, there will be a presentation of essays and films as well as an awards ceremony at 9:30 a.m. The celebration will conclude with a gospel concert by ezra and the reletivs with Theatrical Interludes at 7 p.m. in Troy Theater on Wheeling Jesuit's campus.
